How much longer? When and how will the Ukraine war end? There are numerous studies on the topic of “War Termination”. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) looked at them and, with the help of HCSS expert Tim Sweijs, applied them to the Ukraine war in this explainer video.

Europe depends on the Indo-Pacific for trade, but has limited capacities to secure its interests in the region. This new HCSS report by Benedetta Girardi and Paul van Hooft identifies regional partners with whom Europe should collaborate to deepen its engagement. It first maps the suitability of all Indo-Pacific powers for cooperation before zooming in on a group of countries that are promising as partners but remain somewhat ambivalent towards Europe.

En dat baart zorgen. ‘Veiligheid is typisch iets waar je niet van bewust bent zolang je het hebt.’
