Data Science Officer
Rens van Dam works at HCSS as a Data Science Officer. Here he focuses on developing new methods of data-driven analysis of geopolitical and geo-economic dynamics. His responsibilities include the development and synthesis of The Geopolitical Interactive Network Analysis (GINA), which is a four-part series/suite of tools designed to transcend traditional analysis methods. By integrating diverse data from diplomatic, information, military, and economic spheres, GINA provides a multidimensional perspective on global relations that shape our world. After the completion of GINA Diplomatic, GINA Economic, GINA Military and GINA Information, eventually a GINA+ will be made, combining the data of all four dashboards. In addition to GINA, Rens is also working on the Critical Raw Materials (CRM) analysis dashboard.
Rens holds a BSc in Physics and a BSc in Mathematics from Utrecht University and is currently graduating in Applied Physics at TU Delft. He is co-founder of Perceptrix, a start-up in the field of machine learning and optimization.
