On March 24th, the U.S. embassy hosted a team from the Hague Centre for Strategic Studies to discuss the future of transatlantic relations in an age of great power competition.
The HCSS team – consisting of Rob de Wijk, Paul van Hooft, Tim Sweijs, Jack Thompson, Alex Klimburg, Louk Faesen, Laura Birkman, and Michel Rademaker – discussed various topics, including strengthening multilateral maritime security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, NATO’s conventional deterrence, hybrid conflict, cybernorms, WTO reform, climate change and water security, and supply chains and access to rare minerals.
The conversation was wide-ranging and fruitful and presented a number of avenues for future discussions.
