Datalab Publications

The Datalab treats reports as carefully designed products that translate quantitative research into clear, qualitative insight that is credible, interpretable, and policy or scientifically relevant. By combining quantitative analysis with qualitative interpretation and contextualization, we produce publications that go beyond presenting results: they explain meaning, surface implications, and structure strategic or scientific debate. We structure our publications along the same three scientific areas that define the Datalab’s work: Natural Language Processing, Surveying, and Modelling.

Natural Language Processing

Developing computational methods to extract, structure and analyse meaning from large text corpora, advancing how geopolitical events, signals and narratives can be measured empirically.

Surveying

Measuring public attitudes, perceptions and societal trends through large, representative, longitudinal population surveys, and turning them into empirical evidence for strategic analysis.

Modelling

Representing geopolitical, security and economic systems to reason under uncertainty, spanning causal inference and discovery, game-theoretic and Bayesian modelling, hybrid threat analysis, and agent-based approaches.
