HCSS Advisory Board

May 31, 2022

The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies is proud to announce our new Advisory Board, consisting of three incredibly experienced professionals who will bring their expertise and knowledge to reflect on the strategy of HCSS, and the future of thinktanks.

Note: the members of our Advisory Board are not HCSS-affiliated experts. We are therefore not able to assist with contact requests.

Renée Jones-Bos

Former Ambassador of the Netherlands to Russia and to the United States, the extensive experience as a foreign policy practitioner of Renée Jones-Bos will be an invaluable contribution to HCSS strategy in these times of great geopolitical upheaval.

“In a relatively short time, HCSS has built up a solid reputation as a main source of knowledge and expertise in the Netherlands on foreign and security policy. I am really looking forward to being part of and contributing to HCSS from the perspective of a foreign policy practitioner.”

Mathieu Segers

As a Professor of Contemporary European History and European Integration at Maastricht University, Mathieu Segers is an expert scholar of European politics and integration. He is a member of the permanent committee on European integration (CEI) of the Advisory Council on International Affairs, and the host and producer of the popular podcast Café Europa.

“In these challenging times, it is paramount to invest in high-level knowledge, in-depth insights and analysis of geopolitics, geo-economics and foreign policy. This is what HCSS stands for and achieves on a daily basis. I’m happy to contribute to this key mission in our times from my perspective as a scholar of European politics and integration.”
