Taipei Security Dialogue | Tim Sweijs to speak on Countering Hybrid Threats

September 15, 2021

Technology, hybrid threats and risk governance all make up the agenda of security challenges small states may face. At the 2021 Taipei Security Dialogue later this month, noted experts from across the world will come together to discuss these topics. HCSS Director of Research Tim Sweijs will participate in a panel on Countering Hybrid Threats: Implications for Small States.

Discussions during the annual Institute for National Defense and Security Research (INDSR) event will cover disinformation and resilience in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, countering China’s grey zone tactics, supply chain security and risk management and strategic communication. Additionally, a director from Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense will present some direct examples of the hybrid threats Taiwan is currently confronting.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the audience – made up of various ministries, foreign representative offices in Taiwan, think thank members and scholars – will join virtually to follow the discussion.
