Dr. Tim Sweijs, Director of Research at HCSS was interviewed on robots and advancements in military automation for the European Science-Media Hub. In the interview he argues for analytical rigor in the discussion about military robotic and autonomous systems, reflects on threats and opportunities, and calls for a mixture of idealism with realism:

We also need to combine realism with idealism: The race for AI in the military domain is on. Europe can only have a say and shape its future course if it participates. If we as Europeans, as a value-based community, want to help shape future applications of AI in the military domain we need to be involved, at least.”
