Patrick Willemsen is the Communications Manager of the Hague Centre for Strategic Studies since 2019. He is in charge of all communication, publications, social media and press contacts.
At HCSS he manages and oversees all PR campaigns to promote the company and its products and services, creating and developing content that can be distributed via our various channels, whether that’s social media, websites, newsletters, podcasts or press releases. He oversees the publication schedule, design and formatting of all HCSS reports and papers, managing webinars and updating the website.
Willemsen is the contact person for the press, managing the numerous media requests HCSS receives on a daily basis and arranging our analysts and experts to be featured on national and international television, radio, newspapers and online outlets. He also coordinates the podcast De Strateeg together with BNR Nieuwsradio.
Previously, he worked as product manager and brand manager for sneaker and sportswear company Premium Inc. He also worked as freelance social media manager and as assistant editor for a publishing house in Amsterdam. Before that, Patrick was project manager at the T.M.C. Asser Institute for International and European Law in The Hague, where he was responsible for the development and organization of educational activities, from summer schools to expert sessions, for both students and professionals.
A social media addict, sneaker enthusiast & collector and Italophile, he holds a Master’s Degree in European Studies from the University of Amsterdam and has a degree in shoe design from the ModaPelle Academy in Milan.
