De Strateeg: De Strategische Waarde van de Noordzee

Bij strategische plekken en infrastructuur voor Nederland denk je wellicht aan de Rotterdamse haven, de chipmachinefabriek van ASML of de Deltawerken die ons beschermen tegen het water. Maar wat te denken van die grote plas water waar we aan grenzen? De Noordzee. De komende jaren zal steeds meer vitale infrastructuur naar de Noordzee worden verplaatst.

Op dit moment is de Noordzee vooral belangrijk voor vaarroutes en we halen er energie vandaan. Maar in de komende decennia zullen we steeds meer vitale onderdelen naar de Noordzee verplaatsen. De steeds verdere digitalisering maakt ons bovendien kwetsbaarder voor cyberaanvallen. Hoeveel strategische waarde heeft de Noordzee voor ons? Hoe ziet de Noordzee er in de toekomst uit? En hoe beschermen we die als we er steeds afhankelijker van worden?
