Paul van Hooft bij NPO Radio 1: Nucleaire dreiging terug van weggeweest?

We waren eigenlijk een beetje vergeten dat kernoorlog een reëel gevaar is. Maar sinds Poetin bij herhaling waarschuwt in geval van nood kernwapens in te zetten, lijkt de nucleaire dreiging terug van weggeweest. Maar is er reden tot zorg? We hebben toch het systeem van de afschrikking door de zogenoemde wederzijdse vernietiging, dat dankzij de nog meer geavanceerde kernwapens nog afschrikwekkender is?

Kan de wereld daar dan niet meer op vertrouwen? Te gast is Paul van Hooft, verbonden aan het Centre for Strategic Studies in Den Haag.
