NATO Defense College | Book presentation Tim Sweijs

September 19, 2024
The Research Division and the Library of the NATO Defense College are pleased to invite you to the book presentation of Dr. Tim Sweijs on September 27.

On September 27,  HCSS Director of Research Tim Sweijs will give a presentation at the NATO Defense College in Rome about his recent book “Beyond Ukraine: Debating The Future Of War”.

Dr. Sweijs will present the book during a panel that also includes Col. Shawn Leonard, Faculty Advisor and US Senior National Representative at the NATO Defense College and Dr. Roderick Parkes from the NATO Defense College Research Division. The panel will be moderated by Silvia Colombo, Senior Researcher and Faculty Advisor at the NATO Defense College.

Edited by Tim Sweijs together with Jeffrey H. Michaels (IEN Senior Fellow in American Foreign Policy and International Security at the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals), “Beyond Ukraine” offers the first comprehensive update and revision of ideas surrounding the future of warfare since the 2022 invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and includes analyses from renowned international experts from the War Studies field.

The edited volume is one of the spinoffs of The Future of War Conference hosted by the War Studies Research Centre at the Netherlands Defence Academy in collaboration with the Changing Character of War Centre of the University of Oxford in Amsterdam from 5–7 October 2022.

The book presentation and panel will be livestreamed through Microsoft Teams, including a Q&A session with the remote audience.
