Laura Jasper joins HCSS as new Strategic Analyst

October 11, 2022

HCSS is very happy to announce that Laura Jasper has joined us as a new Strategic Analyst!

Laura has a multidisciplinary background, and she specializes in the intersection between quantitative and qualitative research, specifically when it comes to strategic decision-making.

Laura holds a BSc in Economics (cum laude) as well as an MSc in Economics (magna cum laude) from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. For her master thesis she investigated how we can analyze the strategic determinants of the choice between war and settlement using economic methods and models from game theory. Prior to joining HCSS, Laura held an internship with the Association of Flemish Cities and Municipalities (VVSG). As an intern working on polarization, radicalization, and extremism, she specialized in topics such as conspiracy theories, mis/disinformation and anti-government sentiments.

It is a joy to join the team at HCSS in these tumultuous but important times. I am looking forward to being able to put my multidisciplinary background in economics and security studies to good use. Economics and security studies intersect beautiful at the strategic domain. Being a part of HCSS’ team of analysts, data scientists and experts is an inspiring endeavour, I am excited to further build a bridge between qualitative and quantitative research in our domain.
