HCSS is pleased to announce that Julianne Veltman has joined our team as a PR & Communications Assistant!
Together with Communications Manager Patrick Willemsen, she translates our research and expertise into engaging content for our audiences.
Julianne combines a strong academic background in international affairs with practical experience in journalism. This combination enables her to translate complex international issues into clear and engaging stories, in both written and audiovisual formats.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and International Organization and a master’s degree in Journalism, both from the University of Groningen. Alongside her studies, she wrote for the university newspaper UKrant as a student editor.
Her international experience has further strengthened her media skills. During her exchange semester at Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea, she took media-focused courses, including Documentary Filmmaking. She later interned with the Dutch public broadcaster NOS in the United States, where she learnt to analyse fast-moving developments in American society and to report on them through written and audiovisual stories.
On joining HCSS, she stated:
“I like that I get to learn from HCSS’s experts and deepen my understanding of global issues, while at the same time, putting my knowledge and skills into practice in an international environment. Through creative storytelling, I bring HCSS even closer to its audiences.”
