We would like to warmly invite to join our HSD Café Innovation in Counterterrorism on 3 March. Since 9/11 terrorist organisations, such as Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State has been making headlines regularly. The recent attacks in Paris, in which 129 people were killed, made it painfully clear that terrorism is still capable of striking the West in its hart.
With our society further digitising, the modus operandi of terrorism has changed as well. This implies that traditional counterterrorism methods tend to be no longer sufficient in order to effectively fight this evolving threat. How exactly did terrorism change? And how can law enforcement agencies deal with this evolving threat and what do they need? To what extent are we capable of detecting radicalisation early on? And how can private actors contribute to countering terrorism? We will discuss these questions with representatives from all three branches of the triple helix.
