Biometric identification is also increasingly used in the security field. Since several years Dutch Prison services have been using biometric identification and in March 2014 the use of biometric identification was introduced to the Dutch criminal justice and immigration chain. Furthermore online services and mobile devices are increasingly making use of biometric identification. ING for example will start using voice recognition for online banking and Samsung is planning on introducing an iris-scanning security feature on their smartphones and tablets.
What are the most promising trends in the field of biometric identification related to security? What new business opportunities do those trends provide for? And what are the downsides we are facing when talking about biometric identification and fraud? This HSD Café will focus on the trends in the field of biometric identification and on related business opportunities.
