This paper is published following the seminar on Deep Sea Mining on 8 July 2015, organized by the COE-Resources in cooperation with IHC Mining. It discusses the strategic relevance and economic potential of deep-seamining, the geopolitical context, legal constraints as well as the environmental concerns in particular for the Netherlands.
