HCSS was pleased to welcome students from LUC Nexus to our office for an in-depth introduction to our work in geopolitics, defence, and security.
During the visit, Strategic Analysts Fiona DeCuyper and Laura Jasper provided an overview of HCSS’s research portfolio and our project-based approach to strategic analysis. They highlighted how HCSS bridges rigorous scientific research with practical policy advice, supporting clients such as the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and defence organisations including NATO.
A key part of the session focused on HCSS Serious Gaming. Through simulated geopolitical scenarios, we demonstrate how interactive tools can help policymakers and organisations better anticipate risks, explore strategic choices, and navigate uncertainty in complex security environments.
The visit also offered an opportunity to discuss career pathways at HCSS, including internships and early-career positions for students interested in contributing to high-impact strategic research.
