Geopolitical relations are shifting, while changing dynamics between Europe and the United States, together with the growing strategic focus on the Indo-Pacific, are creating uncertainty. How is Europe positioning itself in this evolving landscape, and what does this mean for our strategic autonomy and international partnerships?
Contributions from Thijs Reuten (European Parliament, Rapporteur on Defence and Security), Roberta Haar (Professor of Foreign Policy and Transatlantic Relations, Maastricht University), and Richard Ghiasy (Researcher at Leiden Asia Centre and expert in Asian geopolitics) will provide valuable insights into this highly relevant strategic and security-related issue.
This will be followed by an in-depth panel discussion moderated by Niels van Willigen (Professor of International Security Studies at the Netherlands Defence Academy and endowed Professor of Strategic Studies at the Institute of Political Science, Leiden University), with opportunities for audience interaction.
📍 Location: Universiteit Leiden (Leiden University), Spui Campus, The Hague
