On Tuesday, May 28, HCSS strategic analyst Irina Patrahau will participate in a session for the European Defence Agency’s (EDA’s) IF CEED 3rd General Conference on Circular economy and strategic autonomy: Critical Raw Materials and Security of Supply.
Following through the successful conclusion of the first phase of the European Defence Agency’s (EDA’s) Incubation Forum for Circular Economy in European Defence (IF CEED), which has achieved the objective to both build the widest defence community in the EU engaged in Circular Economy (with more than 300 experts) and incubate more than a dozen collaborative and transnational topics for projects, a second phase of the same Forum (“IF CEED 2”) started in October 2023, under a 4-year official Contribution Agreement signed by the European Commission’s DG Environment (DG ENV) and the EDA, co-funded by the EU LIFE Programme (2021-2027).
“IF CEED 2” includes activities implementing the topics incubated under the first phase, as well as incubating further collaborative and transnational ideas.
Irina will speak on “Advancing European mineral security in the defence sector in an era of strategic competition: vulnerabilities and strategic responses” on Tuesday, 28 May 2024, from 16:15 – 17:15.
The panel on “Circular economy and strategic autonomy: Critical Raw Materials and Security of Supply” will be moderated by Carolin Hendrys, Project Officer Circular Economy, European Defence Agency
