HCSS maakt bezwaar tegen onzorgvuldige berichtgeving RTL over ‘onterecht uitgekeerde subsidies’ rond het Oekraine referendum

HCSS heeft een aanvraag gedaan voor ruim 39.000 euro voor de ontwikkeling van een neutrale fact checker, maar heeft in de subsidieverantwoording aangegeven slechts ruim 16.000 euro te hebben besteed vanwege meevallende kosten. De rest is conform de regels teruggestort. 

HCSS is BTW-plichtig. Omdat de kosten lager waren is ook een deel van de BTW conform de regels teruggestort. De conclusie van RTL ‘Er waren te veel uren gedeclareerd en er was onterecht btw opgevoerd’ is derhalve onjuist en tendentieus.

De fact checker die ten behoeve van het referendum is opgezet heeft zijn doel meer dan bereikt. De website is 93.000 keer bezocht.
