The 2016 edition of the The annual Global Go To Think Tank Index, published by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of the University of Pennsylvania, was recently released. The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS) is honored to be featured for the third time in the Index, which is derived from a database of almost 7000 think tanks from across the world.
In the 2016 index, HCSS is included in 5 different categories. Compared to other Western European think tanks, HCSS is proud to be listed within the top 50 in all 5 categories.

#41 Top think tanks with annual operating budgets less than $5 million USD. HCSS features as the sole Dutch think tank in this category. It is in the top 10 of Western Europe.
#44 Top Energy and Resource policy think tanks. HCSS features as the sole Dutch think tank in this category. It is in the top 15 of Western Europe.
#73 Best Independent Think Tank. HCSS moved up 11 places in this category and is the only Dutch think tank included. It is in the top 25 of Western Europe.
#78 Top Defense and National Security. HCSS is in the top 30 of Western Europe.
#115 Top Foreign Policy & International Affairs think tanks. HCSS is in the top 50 of Western Europe.
HCSS extends its congratulations to Chatham House, for their first position in the overall worldwide ranking, and to Clingendael Institute, for their position as the highest ranked Dutch think tank in the category Top Think Tanks Worldwide (Non-US).
