HCSS analyst Irina Patrahau recently took part in the Personalities of the Future Invitation Programme (PIPA), visiting France from 8 to 11 June.
The programme offered an opportunity to explore the French approach to industrial sovereignty, the energy transition and economic resilience. During her visit, Irina met with representatives from French government ministries, including the Ministries of the Economy and Ecological Transition, as well as research institutions, think tanks and private-sector organisations.
Discussions focused on national and European strategies to diversify supply sources, strengthen processing and recycling capacities, and build more resilient industrial sectors. Visits to innovative sites and projects also provided insight into France’s efforts in these areas.
The visit enabled Irina to deepen her understanding of France’s strategic and industrial ecosystem and to build connections with key stakeholders working on these issues. Through exchanges such as these, the PIPA programme contributes to strengthening mutual understanding of shared strategic challenges and fostering long-term cooperation between France and the Netherlands.
