Export van Nederlandse landbouw expertise biedt kansen voor oplossing klimaatverandering

In 2016 bereikte de Nederlandse landbouw export een recordbedrag van ca. 94 miljard euro. Dit is de grootste uitvoer ooit en betekent de hoogste stijging van de export sinds 2011, meldt het Ministerie van Economische Zaken. Nederland staat daarmee achter de Verenigde Staten op nummer 2 van mondiale agrarische exporteurs.

Niet alleen met het produceren en leveren van agrarische producten is Nederland koploper, ook steeds meer met de export van kennis en technologie. Dit sluit aan op de exportvisie van staatssecretaris Van Dam: kennis en innovatie om de wereldvoedselproductie te verduurzamen. 

Het rapport The Netherlands in the Global Food System, in november 2016 door HCSS uitgebracht, concludeerde dat de export van Nederlandse kennis kan bijdragen aan het oplossen van mondiale problemen, zoals klimaatverandering en de invloed daarvan op het wereldwijde voedselsysteem.
