BNR: Importgas streept klimaatwinst zon- en windparken weg

Bij BNR sprak Remco de Boer over het nieuwe rapport van het Den Haag Centrum voor Strategische Studies over aardgaswinning uit kleine aardgasvelden, geschreven door Lucia van Geuns en Jilles van den Beukel, dat maandag uitkwam. Het gas uit de grote velden in Groningen zou in 2022 op zijn. Daarom is gekeken hoeveel gas er nog in die kleine velden zit.

Importgas streept klimaatwinst zon en windparken weg

Volgens het rapport, The deteriorating outlook for Dutch small natural gas fields, is de inschatting van het kabinet van de hoeveelheid gas in de kleine velden veel te optimistisch. Omdat het gas uit eigen land op raakt importeert Nederland gas uit voornamelijk Rusland.

Weg rendement

Het importgas is alleen veel slechter voor het milieu dan het gas uit Nederland. Zo is het negatieve effect van gas importeren uit Rusland minstens even groot als de winst die behaald wordt door de zon en windparken. Je zou verwachten dat zulke inzichten Kamervragen oproepen, maar die bleven uit.
