Bureau Buitenland met Han ten Broeke en Paul Verhagen: Biden’s diplomatieke estafette in Europa

“America’s back” riep Biden tijdens zijn eerste speech op Britse grond als president van de Verenigde Staten. Hij koos zijn bestemming, Europa, met zorg. Want de inzet is niets minder dan de comeback van de Trans-Atlantische alliantie. En dat belooft een diplomatieke estafette te worden, met bezoeken aan onder andere de G7, de EU en de NAVO. Één vraag lijkt tijdens al die ontmoetingen door Biden’s hoofd te spoken: wat te doen met China? Krijgt hij Europa mee in zijn nieuwe plannen tegen de opkomende grootmacht? Te gast zijn Han ten Broeke, directeur politieke zaken bij het HCSS én Amerika-deskundige Paul Verhagen.
