As part of the Nuclear Knowledge Summit (NKS), prior to the Nuclear Security Summit, the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) in collaboration with The Hague Security Delta (HSD) is organizing an event called “Showcasing the preeminent challenges in the field of Forensics in Nuclear Security”.
The goal of the event is to inform and discuss the current state of ‘Forensics in Nuclear Security’ and the need for innovations in the next 5 years. Special attention will be given to the importance of intensive public-private cooperation within The Hague Security Delta to realize these innovations. We organize this event for our national relations in the field of nuclear security: representatives of ministries, security regions, relevant police units, NCTV, Landelijk Parket, Instituut Fysieke Veiligheid, fire departments, GHOR, KMAR, and the business relations of the organizations involved. National and international press are also welcome.
The program will start off with several presentations on the importance of Forensics in Nuclear Security and will then move on to a staged crime scene. This crime scene will be used to show the current capabilities and will test the participants’ forensic awareness. Participants will be guided through the crime scene and will have the opportunity to talk to the organizations responsible for the nuclear security capabilities.
