Personalization in health care is an emerging approach that could greatly benefit the financial sustainability of health-care systems and improve health outcomes. This Issue Brief looks at the extent to which personalization is an answer to European health challenges, the role of scientific and technological innovations in the incorporation of personalization in health care, and the costs and benefits it entails.
