[NL] HP Opent Grootschalige Recycling Werkplaats en Inzamel Netwerk in Kenia

 Recent is een door HP gesteunde recycling werkplaats en inzamelnetwerk geopend in Kenia. Dit nieuwe model zal duizenden groene banen creëren en beschermt tegelijkertijd de gezondheid van de mensen en het milieu.

De inzamelpunten hebben reeds een positieve impact gehad op twee wijken in Nairobi. Charles Kuria, managing director van HP Kenia, zag de onmiddellijke transformatie van de omliggende omgeving toen producten die voorheen werden gedumpt, in een container worden gestopt. Eenmaal vol, wordt de container met e-waste naar de eerste grootschalige e-waste recycling werkplaats van Oost-Afrika gebracht voor verwerking. De werkplaats is opgezet in partnership met HP en is een uitbreiding van de pilot die HP in 2009 is gestart. Meer inzamelpunten zullen worden ingericht in heel Kenia om ervoor te zorgen dat alle e-waste ingezameld en verwerkt wordt.
