‘Nederland verliest invloed door bezuiniging Defensie’

Door de bezuinigingen op de krijgsmacht zal Nederland internationaal aan invloed verliezen. Dat zeiden oud-generaal Dick Berlijn en veiligheidsexpert Rob de Wijk woensdag bij een hoorzitting over de defensiebezuinigingen in de Tweede Kamer.

De Wijk noemde de bezuinigingen ‘tamelijk dramatisch’. ‘We zitten op defensiegebied ongeveer op het niveau van Cyprus, Malta en het neutrale Finland. We zijn internationaal totaal aan het onderpresteren en dat is de zesde economie van de wereld onwaardig’, aldus de Wijk. Lees het artikel in de Volkskrant
