Made in China

April 7, 2015

On Tuesday, 7 April Foodpolicy NL organizes the conference ‘Made in China’ at Slot Zeist.

Marjolein de Ridder is guest speaker and will present a geopolitical perspective on the rise of China and its role in the world food system, and implications for the Netherlands.

China’s policy response to challenges the country is facing in the areas of food security and food safety will be discussed. Ms De Ridder will also elaborate on the opportunities and risks for the Dutch agri-food sector in China, and the impact China’s growing demand for food and may have on Dutch food security.

In her presentation, some of the findings of the report “Harvesting Golden Opportunities for the Dutch Agri-Food Business in China,” are presented. This was published in November 2014 by HCSS and LEI, and commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. This report can be downloaded here.

The conference will be moderated by Marijke Roskam of BNR News Radio.

The other speakers are:

Peter Potman, Director Asia and Oceania, NL MFA

Atze Schaap, Director Dairy Development, Royal Friesland Campina

Foodpolicy NL is a network of progressive managers form the Dutch food sector, aimed at the translation of societal trends to commercial opportunities.
