The Netherlands Industries for Defense and Security 24th Symposium 2012

October 18, 2012

The Defence exhibition will present an overview of the latest technological developments in the area of defence and security to governments, defence organisations and the international business community.

During the symposium, expert speakers give presentations on the NIDV’s annual theme. The ‘promoplein’ trade exhibition is also an impressive event, in which the industry displays its latest products and services. Every year, governments and companies are successfully brought together. So for good reasons, this event has become the place to meet for anyone who is active in the defence or security sectors.

The areas of attention at this exhibition will be: aerospace, land systems, Navy, Royal Dutch Military Constabulary and security. Attention will also be given to the innovation programme in the area of security, with the express intention of highlighting the strengths and opportunities of the Dutch defence-related industry, particularly the priority technology areas and the technological requirements for Defence and Security.

The NIDV represents the interests of its members by bringing the interests, potential and opinions of the membership to the attention of the government, politicians and the media. It is in almost daily contact with the armed forces, a variety of ministries and members of the Lower House of the Dutch Parliament. Under the procedures that apply in relation to defence procurement in the Netherlands, foreign companies that supply defence hardware to the Dutch government are themselves then obliged to place orders with companies in the Netherlands. In this regard, the NIDV represents the interests of its members by bringing those foreign companies together with suitable Dutch companies.
