On the 6th of March, theatre group Mightysociety presented a play in Haarlem about Afghanistan. Afterwards there was a debate with HCSS’ deputy-director Christa Meindersma about the theme: Why Afghanistan? Why not? Central questions in the debate were: Is Afghanistan just a middle age country? How did it come this far? How dangerous is the situation in Afghanistan for the rest of the world? What does it mean to NATO and for the American war on terror?
