Rewatch: NATO’s 75th Anniversary, from Madrid to Washington

May 8, 2024

On May 7th, HCSS director of political affairs Han ten Broeke participated in a roundtable at the Real Instituto Elcano, a leading Spanish thinktank on international affairs and strategic studies, together with NATO’s Public Diplomatic Division.

The conference “NATO’s 75th Anniversary: from Madrid to Washington” was held on the 75th anniversary of the Treaty of Washington, ahead of the Washington Summit this summer (July 2024). The event sought to raise awareness about challenges and opportunities for the Alliance in a context of ongoing war in Europe, increasing turmoil in the Middle East and political transitions in the United States and Europe.
