As the Executive Director of The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS) since May 2014, I have been in touch with a multitude of people and organizations involved with HCSS. The deep and close collaborations that are developed continue to impress me.
The current turmoil in the East of Europe, the implications of Russia’s actions in Ukraine for energy policy in the rest of Europe is an emerging topic right in the middle of our geopolitical, security and geo-economic areas of expertise.
HCSS is closely watching these events, analyzing the implications for public (how do we develop a common European energy policy?) and private policies (how safe are your investments in Russia at the moment?) and developing practical solutions. The various customers (close to 50) that assigned us projects have again valued our efforts, both quantitative and qualitative in nature.
