The Hague Centre for Strategic Studies (HCSS) and the Institute for World Policy in Kyiv, Ukraine have for the past year been engaged in a project on ‘Enhancing Ukraine’s Foresight Capacity’. A number of IWP analysts were trained in the HCSS Metafore-method, participated in some HCSS foresight projects, provided summaries of these projects in Ukrainian and gradually started developing their own analyses using HCSS tools and methods. The project, which was funded by the International Renaissance Foundation, this week presented its two final reports — one of the Future of Ukraine and one on the Future of the European Union — to a standing-room only audience of the Ukrainian press and policy community.
