On January 28, 2020, the Air Defense – Command (ADC) frigate Zr. Mrs. De Ruyter left Den Helder for the Strait of Hormuz ‘to strengthen maritime security in the Gulf region’. The frigate returned on 28 June 2020. With the frigate, the Netherlands contributed to the European-led Mission Awareness Strait of Hormuz (EMASOH) during the French-led naval operation Agénor.
