SANCS is now open for Registration!

South Africa-Netherlands Cyber Security School (SANCS) Opens Registration for 2024

The South Africa-Netherlands Cyber Security School (SANCS) proudly announces the commencement of registrations for its upcoming edition, SANCS 24. This online Cyber Security school caters to students and young to mid-career professionals interested in cybersecurity matters, specifically those based in Southern Africa or the Netherlands.

Organised by HCSS and CAIR, at Stellenbosch University and sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, SANCS is committed to fostering professional and academic growth in the field of cybersecurity through expert lectures and online action learning.

Key Features of SANCS 24:

  1. Programme Overview:
  • Date: 11 March to 18 April 2024
  • Free lectures by renowned experts
  • Real case studies from leading South African and Dutch organizations
  1. Registration:
  • Open to current postgraduate students, recent graduates, and young to mid-career professionals
  • Limited spots available; early applicants receive priority
  • No prior background in cybersecurity required, but a deep interest is essential

  1. Program Structure:
  • Part 1 (11 March – 4 April):
    • 20 lectures covering diverse cybersecurity topics such as ethics, accountability, hardware security, incident response, data protection, and norms and governance.
  • Part 2 (5 April – 18 April):
    • Collaborative work on case studies provided by leading South African and Dutch organizations
    • Pitch findings to a panel of experts
    • Distinctions and certificates awarded to the best teams

Application Deadline:
Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible due to the limited number of available spots. While a background in cybersecurity is not mandatory, priority will be given to candidates familiar and deeply interested in the field.
