Michel Rademaker at the Sarajevo Security Conference | AI in the Military Domain: Legal, Industry, and Practitioner Perspectives

September 24, 2025

HCSS Deputy Director Michel Rademaker will be a speaker at the upcoming Sarajevo Security Conference. On Sunday, September 28, he will be the featured speaker and moderator of the panel on “AI in the Military Domain: Legal, Industry, and Practitioner Perspectives”.

Panelists include Jessica Dorsey, Assistant Professor of International Law, Utrecht University, Col. Arnel David, NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, and Dr. Anke Allenhofer, Lead Counsel at Helsing.

The Sarajevo Security Conference 2025, titled “Reframing Europe’s New Security Architecture,” will take place from September 26–28, 2025, at Sarajevo City Hall (Vijećnica) and Hotel Movenpick.

This third edition of the conference will once again convene an influential group of global experts, senior policymakers, defence and security officials, academics, and civil society leaders. SSC 2025 will focus on redefining the principles and frameworks that underpin Europe’s evolving security environment, with special attention to strategic coordination, democratic resilience, and threats posed by authoritarian influence, hybrid warfare, and geopolitical instability.

About the Sarajevo Security Conference

The Sarajevo Security Conference (SSC) was launched in 2023 by the Strategic Analysis Initiative, a nonprofit and nongovernmental think tank based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since January 2024, both the initiative and the conference have operated under the Western Balkans Center at the New Lines Institute, an independent research and policy organization headquartered in Washington, D.C.

The Sarajevo Security Conference, or SSC, is a unique and dynamic platform dedicated to addressing security and foreign policy challenges. It emphasizes collaborative security, empowers small-state agencies, and fosters widespread support for the Euro-Atlantic perspective of Europe as a whole.
