This meeting between high level Chinese and European security practitioners and analysts is an ideal opportunity to exchange views on the global and regional security environment, i.e., what are the key risks and challenges we currently face? Such an exchange sheds light not only on similarities and differences in strategic outlooks. It will also facilitate a discussion about strategic planning, specifically with respect to the choices we make in building up our national capability portfolios.
